Winter Trees

Winter Trees - 2012-01-02 20:55:54

These trees are in the park of Blenheim Palace, a world heritage site in Oxfordshire, UK. It's somewhere we walk often and I've watched them change through the seasons this year.

Autumn Gold

Autumn Gold - 2010-09-22 18:53:34

Autumn colours are on the way. This was caught about a week ago with my recently acquired Canon 100L macro. It's looking like a great lens, this is pretty much straight out of camera. I sold the Sigma 10-20mm to make way, I wasn't using it much now I have the 5D. I should probably still shed something else though....decisions....!

Oxford High

Oxford High - 2010-09-15 20:02:15

These buidlings are at the bottom of the High Street in Oxford, opposite Magdalen college. It's been straightened out using the new Lens Correction in Lightroom 3, the original was pretty distorted.

Somewhere

This is my eldest daughter Ruby, now 5. It's one of those shots that is so personal to me that it's hard to be objective as to whether it's an interesting image or not. I love photographing kids, none moreso than when they are absorbed in their own thoughts and games. I think here she was playing with my wifes phone, sign of the times I guess!

Salvation

This the building of the Salvation Army headquarters in London. It's right next to the MIllenium Bridge and St Paul's Cathedral. I'd been taking shots of the obvious stuff then this caught my eye.

A bit tacky but there's always room for some humour...! On the nerdy front, this is the first time I've used 'content aware fill' in Photoshop CS5. I removed a long shadow from the bottom left corner. It's obvious when you're looking for it, the cracks don't line up. All in all I was surprised how well it did though. I wonder if you'd have spotted it if you weren't looking for something?
